Background

Ahmed is a graduate research assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering under the mentorship of Dr. Punam Saha. He graduated with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2013 and with an M.Eng. in ECE from Cornell University in 2014. He joined the University of Iowa in the fall of 2015 and is currently pursuing his Doctoral degree in ECE.

Research Summary

Ahmed's current research interests are related to quantitative CT-based analysis of the human airway tree. More specifically, the overall aim of my Ph.D. research study is to develop and evaluate new theory and algorithms for automated CT-based segmentation of human airway trees, anatomical labeling of bronchi, and computation of morphological airway phenotypes.
